Getting Your Heart Ready for Surgery Abroad

As a general rule, your cardiac fitness level determines your ability to get through the general anesthesia of your surgery from a cardiac standpoint. For example patients who can walk 30 minutes on flat ground with no symptoms and no prior history of heart issues can get through surgery without major issues from a cardiac standpoint. If you are unable to exercise decently a cardiac evaluation or a preoperative evaluation by a cardiologist is often required to determine risk for cardiac complications during surgery. Please review the video below which elaborates on this and review the cardiac checklist of questions to prepare your heart for your surgery abroad.
